SANT’ANNA SCHOOL INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT RESEARCHERS PARTICIPATE IN S-PARCS HORIZON 2020 PROJECT: 7 INDUSTRIAL PARKS COOPERATION FOR ENERGY MANAGEMENT
The Horizon 2020 “Envisioning and Testing New Models of Sustainable Energy Cooperation and Services in Industrial Parks” (S-PARCS)” project meeting was held in Linz (Austria) at the Energie Institute-Linz. The project aims at moving from a single-company energy efficient intervention approach to cooperative energy efficient solutions within the framework of 7 industrial parks, thus enabling higher energy savings and the subsequent increase of competitiveness of the companies located in the parks.
Researchers of the Sant’Anna School Institute of Management have joined the partners from Austria, Italy, Spain and Portugal institutions to develop energy innovation tools and technologies to be tested and scaled across Europe by 2020. The needed harmonization of energy management and low carbon transition as a European research theme has specific objectives in reducing energy consumption and maximizing efficiency. By clustering buildings and processes, energy exchange, and joint energy services based on renewables, European synergies and capacity building can be enhanced to improve efficiency and reduce costs. At the core of the project meeting were the initiatives for common tools integration across the energy system, new business models and market mechanisms.
The Horizon 2020 “Envisioning and Testing New Models of Sustainable Energy Cooperation and Services in Industrial Parks” (S-PARCS)” partners include: Borealis Agrolinz Melamine (Austria), Ennshafen (Austria), Cuioidepur (Italy), Rina Consulting (Italy), Agencia de Desenvolvimento Regional do Alentejo (Portugal), Circe (Spain), Tecnalia (Spain), Bizkaia Sortaldeko Industrialdea (Spain), Asociacion de Fundidores del Pais Vasco y Navarra (Spain) and Kadir Has Universitesi (Turkey).
